A sweet sixteen is a big birthday, and it deserves a big look. It also deserves a look that suits a sixteen-year-old: fresh skin, bright eyes and a sparkle of fun. The goal is glamorous and polished without looking older than she is. Here's how I find that balance, and how parents and teens can plan it together.
Start with a conversation
The best sweet sixteen looks come from planning with both the birthday girl and her parent or guardian. Teens often bring inspiration from social media that was created for an adult face, or softened by a filter. That's a wonderful starting point. Together we figure out what she loves about it, whether it's the glitter, the lashes, the glowing skin or the lip, and then adapt it to her features and her age.
